Cavaliers

Hey, this is a custom wallpaper that I made for the Cavaliers. If you want me to create one for any team of sorts, just comment on this post and let me know!

Most Intimidating Team

While the NBA has clamped down recently on brawls, everyone enjoys a classic fight (Carmelo Anthony’s sissy punch and run notwithstanding). The Detroit – Pacers brawl always comes to mind when thinking of a good fight and it’s no surprise the guy who may have started it plays on the league’s most intimidating team.

Do you really want to start a fight with him?

While the Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t had a big brawl in recent years you shouldn’t find that surprising. That’s because when tempers flare and players are backing each other down, the opposing team’s players spot Ben Wallace and Lebron James walking towards them and they quickly back down. They’re looking to try and intimidate a Cavs player, not get beat down. I mean, who can blame them? Ben Wallace is still one of the strongest guys in the league, and Lebron James is an absolute physical freak. While Wally and Andy V aren’t exactly the toughest guys on the block, these two easily make up for that and when you put them together with energetic upstart J.J. Hickson and tough as nails Delonte West, this is a team you won’t want to start a fight with and is the most intimidating team in the league.

Lebron looks at someone incredulously when they suggested they could take the Cavs on. (it was Deshawn Stevenson)

Oh and I’m the other writer here at The Crab Dribble. I too love the Cavs and everything to do about them. This means bias is pretty much a given in my posts, but this is a partly a blog of my views so that doesn’t matter. I hope to blog about not only the Cavs but the rest of the NBA, and I hope it’s interesting enough to keep you guys around.

"Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder" The NBA's best looking jumpshot

First off, just to make things clear, when i say best looking, i mean it purely upon aesthetics, damn, the top 3 players i am about to list can be the crappiest of shooters, bangin' and bouncin' of the cyllinder like a kid peeing on a toilet seat....but at least they have one thing going for them, a tasty lookin' jumper.

Every kid when attempting to mold
their young game should always seeks to 1) have the most convenient jumper with the best mechanics (straight arm, 90 degree angle upon forearm and bicep etc.) 2) one that helps you put the ball in the basket. I on the other hand, have kind of shyed away from that, prioritizing having the best looking jumper (with right mechanics or not) first putting convenience and efficiency behind like the setting Suns, and the extinct-bound Raptors.

The list I am about to make is not in order, rather, a collection of the top 3 best lookin' jumpshots in the NBA.

1) Kobe Bryant

When everyone asks the question, "What is the most ideal form", Kobe Bryant is the first thing that pops in the mind of most of the people today in this generation. His jumpshot is truly a staple of his game. His jumpshots are that of the off-balanced nature as fadeaways tend to be his shot of choice. The end-results always remain the same though, nothing-but-net.

2) Michael Jordan

I personally feel that mechanic-wise, Air J's form is most probably the...best. Elbow straight, seemingly unable to allow it to stick out (kevin durant) or push in (uhh that might hurt), ball not cocked back too far (michael redd :S) or to far away from lead (Leandro Barbosa), balance is unshakable and lift simply awe-inspiring...flawless really, handwoven to perfection.

3) OJ Mayo

Although OJ's mechanics are slightly off (head and shooting arm cocked back abit too far, elbow sticking out just teency weency lil bit) this young gun has an amazing looking jumper. If his jumper were a woman, it would not be that usual brand of "beautiful on the outside, unattractive on the inside", but like the other two players right above him, the beauty that is his jumpshot comes with the same results of "swish". My favorite move of his when employing this sweet jumper is a dribble move followed with a hop step to the back and as he quickly gathers his footing, follows through with his J', poetry in motion? i think so.

Best "Hand-Shake"

One might consider the in-game handshake somewhat insignificant. Whether it be a simple high five, a slap on the ass (no homo), a tap on the head and more. I have always been infatuated though with the rockin' hand shakin' celebrations of the Cavs, particularly the LBJ-Mo Wil. combo.... featuring a country-western feel to it. If memory serves me right it features a high five at the inner part of the hand (x2), then at the outer part (x2), followed by quickdraw and a blowin' off of the smoke-like residue ending with a slick return to the holsters. Awesome? yeah.

and the L-B-J + Damon Jones combination. A more oriental-themed approach this time around. I personally do not remember much of it. All i do remember though is a swinging of the arms in the most flamboyant nature, a motion shaping similar to that of peacock feathers. I'll find a link eventually...

The NBA

Heyyy ya'll, this blog is mainly to express our views on the NBA and our take on the numerous happenings around the league. I personally have been an avid cavs fan of five years. Why is this so? Well it's because they're probably my favorite team to watch. The drafting of Lebron James, like a magnet, drew me to the cavs team. His dynamism, his style of play, his scary athletecism, his jumpshot, his awkward footing, his shoes all possess this unconventional charm and intruige making him the enigma he is today. I love the Cavs to death. I will hate the Magic to the grave. I want to see OKC draft Hasheem Thabeet. JJ Hickson is going to be amazing. Pau Gasol is one of my favorite big man....behind Zydrunas Ilgauskus.
